Iris tectorum Cruella is the Japanese roof iris, another new one to us. It’s a
rhizomatous perennial with clump-forming cream and green leaves, rather phormium-
like. It’s a super fresh-looking plant native to Burma, China, Japan and Korea and bears
very pretty and delicate-looking lilac, blue and honey flowers. It will need more water
than the bearded iris we commonly get here.
